This is a CROCHET PATTERN for crocheted socks featuring the Herringbone Half Double Crochet Stitch. These toe-up, short row heel socks are crocheted using the Herringbone Half Double Crochet stitch. Available in five sizes from Women’s 5 to Men’s 13, whip a pair up for all of your favorite people. ♥ Pattern Notes: Mark the first st of each row with a stitch marker. Do not turn throughout the pattern, except when working the HEEL rows. You could continue the “ankle” rows to make the socks as short or tall as you like. Pattern written using US terms. Each size is separated out individually. These socks are stretchy! They have a negative ease and may appear too small while working them up. Use the tail from the beginning chain to cinch up any holes in the toe as you weave in the end. We are using the Herringbone Half Double Crochet stitch. Watch the tutorial for this stitch here: https://hearthookhome.com/how-to-herringbone-half-double-crochet-hhdc/ The entire sock is worked in continuous rounds with the exception of the heel. The heel is worked in rows, then we switch back to rounds (picking up where we left off) to finish the “ankle” and “leg”.

As Stephen West says, #specklesaresohotrightnow! These socks have been designed to showcase speckled yarn that may obscure a more intricate pattern, but still have a bit of interest (both during the knitting and in the finished object). The contrasting toe, heel and cuff only use a small amount of yarn, which makes this a great project to use some of your favourite mini-skeins or leftovers from other projects. These socks are worked toe-up with a short row heel and “mini-gusset” to ensure a better fit. The cable is worked on opposite sides of each sock for a mirrored effect. The cable pattern is only a four row repeat, making it easy to remember and continue without the instructions to hand. If you’re an Instagram fan like me, I’d love to see your progress! Use #confettiandcables Main Colour: Small 100m / 110yd; Medium 200m / 220yd; Large 300m / 330yd Contrast Colour: Small 60m / 65yd; Medium 80m / 86yd; Large 100m / 110yd See more See less

This listing is for an Instant Download PDF pattern, not the finished item. These slipper socks are worked in one continuous piece from toe through heel! They are quick and easy enough for a dedicated beginner, interesting enough in design to be a fun project for experienced crocheters. These would make a great gift! The heel shaping that allows these to be made in one piece makes for a great fit, snug right in the arch of th
e foot:) Use any DK/Light Worsted (#3) weight yarn. Pattern includes instructions for 3 womens sizes – Small 5/6, Medium 7/8, Large 9/10 I have made several pairs of these using various DK/Light Worsted weight yarns so just some thoughts that hopefully will be helpful… I loved this Plymouth DK Merino and would definitely recommend using a yarn with some give as it makes them fit so nice (at least some wool, nylon and/or elastic). A nice thing about these being designed for DK weight is most sock (fingering #1) yarns (and there are soooo many gorgeous ones to choose from – solid, variegated, self-striping, etc) held double-stranded will work! (just go by gauge)

If you have always been intimidated by crocheting socks, I want to reassure you that they are much more straightforward than you imagine. In fact, when constructed with a short row heel, crochet socks are worked all in one piece. That’s only 2 ends to sew in (and one of them is hidden inside theRead More
